How to Use PathScroll: The Complete Visual Workspace Guide
PathScroll is a visual workspace that lets you capture thoughts on an infinite canvas using cards, organize them into list, and share your work with one click — no login required for viewers.
In this guide, you'll learn everything from creating your first board to sharing it with the world. Let's dive in.

Create your first board
When you sign up for PathScroll, you'll land on your boards page. Click "Create New Board" and give it a name — anything from "Project Launch" to "Trip to Japan" to "Weekly Tasks."
Pro tip: Your board name becomes the title viewers see when you share it. Make it descriptive but concise.
Once created, you'll enter your blank canvas — an infinite space where you can add cards anywhere.
Add cards to your canvas
Click the + button to add your first card. Each card can hold:
- Title — what's this about?
- Duration / task — what do you want to do?
- Link — add a URL for reference
- Notes — add details or reminders
Cards are the building blocks of your workspace. Use them for tasks, ideas, links, or anything you want to capture. You can drag them anywhere on the canvas — no rigid lists.
Draw connections between ideas
This is where the canvas becomes powerful. Click the Pen tool and drag from one card to another to draw a connection line.
Use connections to show:
Connection lines help you understand the big picture instantly. No long explanations needed.
Toggle between Canvas & List view
PathScroll's unique feature is the ability to toggle between two views:
Canvas View
Freeform. Cards anywhere. Draw connections. Perfect for brainstorming.
List View
Structured list. Organized by section. Perfect for execution.
One click toggles between both views. Nothing gets lost. You're just seeing the same data differently. This canvas-list duality is what makes PathScroll different fromtraditional tools like Notion or Miro.
👀 See it in action
Watch how cards move smoothly on an open canvas and transform into a clean list layout in a single click.
Share your board with one link
Click the Share button to generate a public link. Anyone with the link can view your board instantly — no account required.
Perfect for: Presenting to clients, sharing itineraries with friends, getting feedback without forcing sign-ups.
The link stays the same even after you edit the board. Viewers always see your latest version.
Pro tips for visual planning
- Start messy, end clean. Capture everything first, organize later.
- Use sections in List View. Organize by priority, status, or category.
- Draw connections early. They reveal relationships you might miss.
- Share early, share often. Get feedback before you go too far.
Real Workflow Example: Launching a Product
Week 1: Freeform Capture - Brainstorm every piece of the puzzle. Marketing ideas, code infrastructure, product copy, design assets. Drop cards freely onto the page. Draw loose lines to link related dependencies together.
Week 2: The Transition - Toggle over to List View. Group the chaos into organized streams, add definitive due dates, and map out what needs to happen first.
Weeks 3-6: Straight Execution - Work directly out of your clean list. Check off tasks as you finish them. Toggle back to the open canvas view once a week to realign your focus with the big-picture strategy.
Launch Day: Clean Sharing - Send the workspace link out to your launch team. Everyone views live progress updates instantly, keeping meetings entirely unnecessary.
Try it
PathScroll is free and it costs nothing to try. Our starter space gives you full freedom to dump your ideas, link relative cards together, and publically share links to see if this dual workflow fits your natural thinking habits.
Don't worry about constructing a massive project architecture right out of the gate. Just take one messy concept that's currently cluttering your head, drop it onto an open page, and experience the difference.
